I Goals to College

 Things that are stressing me out: Voice lesson tomorrow, I need to have suicide aria memorized Vocal Rep reading. Are the practice rooms confirmed or what? What the heck is up with the practice rooms? I can't find my headphones again, I literally just found them. I think that they may be cursed. What is the German homework? There is no description of the homework. Do I need the german textbook or not? I am pretty good at finding stuff online, and he appears to be putting slides on the internet so. Stuff that I have done really well at so far in this semester Communicating to teachers when there is a problem with my schedule Being a leader in the cohort. Waking up at a reasonable time I have worked out a few times I have eaten pretty healthy. What I will do right now in the hour that I have before aural skills: Do reading for Vocal Rep Work a little bit on my Chromatic chart. Memorize a little bit.  What needs to happen today: get books Make sure the german class is happening Start another order for food Read email for zoom call. Practice music, especially papageno's suicide aria and Baby Doe Write in current schedule into calendar including voice area events.

 I have noticed that when I watch the screen or do homework for too long, my mind starts to wander, and I tend to go to distractions like youtube or video games. So I want to make a blog specifically rediverting my habits. So I will make a list of distractions that I tend to go to that get me trapped, and I will write replacement habits that I can do instead. Non-helpful trap Habits: Going to youtube Going to the kitchen to snack on something Minesweeper Facebook Playing the piano Replacement Habits that could take no more than 5 minutes Walking up the hill and back Getting a drink of water Quiz self on musical Repituar Meditation 1 beat saber song Splashing water on face (it may be a good idea to get a squirt bottle) 1 session of the home work out app (15 minutes) Stretching Talk to room mate about what I am learning Switch to paper record self with eyes closed talking about what you are learning Ask myself as many questions about subject

What is my to do list for now up to when school starts Go to store buy everything I need. Buy books Finish figuring out overlapping schedule Voice meeting on  Put schedule into phone Install phone recorder, one that transcribes, or see if I can get the google recorder to record it. Figure out the tricks of video confrencing Figure out how to email better, perhaps watching youtube.  Obviously I will run into problems when I go through this school year, so I want to write them down and take ownership of them early. I will first write down potential problems then think of potential ways to think around them. 1. Challenging teachers 2. Getting behind and feeling like I can't catch up. 3. Sudden depression/depression in general 4. Procrastination 5. Not being able to sleep at night/feeling tired. 6. Going home then forgetting about your responsibilities because you make amazing food. 7. Drained from too much online screen time 8. Getting distracted 1. Challenging teachers I feel like one of my biggest challenges thus far in college is asking for help from professors. possible solutions: In a class that I am struggling in set up a weekly time to go and talk to the teacher, so it is the default not the emergency option. Purpose of this blog:  Get through a rough 18 credit semester This blog will keep me on task by forcing me to keep myself accountable Ideas to do so:  Write a post before every class and every time I am about to practice (if new voice teacher doesn't require it) and every time I sit down to do homework. Then comment afterwards what I learned... More refined idea:  After Every Class I take a few moments to write what I learned, even if I had written down everything. Potentially in bullet form. Potential questions to ask myself for classes: What did you learn in this class, and why was it important? What seemed easy about this class? What seemed hard about this class? What can I do/who can I talk to between now and next class in order to learn the material? When will I do the homework?
